THE SONICS a été formé au début des années 60. Les membres originaux sont GERRY ROSLIE (chanteur, piano, orgue), ANDY PARYPA (guitare), LARRY PARYPA (bassiste), BOB BENNETT (batterie), and ROB LIND (saxophone). Le son du groupe THE SONICS est sensiblement plus rugueux, plus cru et plus brutal que leurs pairs musicaux des années 60. THE SONICS mélange le son sale du R & B Garage avec un Rock 'N' Roll rempli de distorsions.
